Mark and Sherrie Watkins started their lives together 39 years ago. After retiring from a busy anesthesiology practice in Southeast Texas they moved to the beautiful Texas Hill Country just outside the unique town of Fredericksburg . They purchased their land in 2000 and moved to Fredericksburg a short time later. They have 135 acres on which they are producing some of the best Boer goats available anywhere.
They are the proud parents of two grown daughters, Rebecca and Amber, and one grandson, Cortlin.
They began several years ago with Boer cross percentage goats to help with brush control and quickly discovered how enjoyable both the goats and the people in the goat business were. They have developed a herd of high quality Fullblood South African Goats. Every year they strive to improve the quality of their stock through a successful breeding program. They are bringing together the best genetics in the industry.
Being of medical background it was natural to progress to Artificial Insemination and eventually to Embryo Transfer. This allows them to offer the public the best Boer goats they need to be successful in either the show ring or the meat auction.
